Welcome to Buddies' Experiments!
We are dedicated to fostering creativity, and community.
Our Story
Founded by Cc Marmaritsaki and Marina Sasli, Buddies' Experiments is an inclusive methodology that explores the artistic and human dimensions of collaboration. At its core, our approach focuses on connection, support, rhythm, and organic movement.
Imagine how many things could be more achievable, easier, and more enjoyable if we chose not to do them alone every time.
Is a body truly silent when it moves in silence?
Inspired by these thoughts and the necessity of choosing companions to embellish certain parts of our journeys, we harness the power of coexistence, connection, and co-creation. We aim to better understand ourselves and those around us, to play, and to discover.
Through this methodology that we have formed and we keep re-forming and evolving, we delve into the perspectives of bodies in contact while simultaneously experimenting with sounds that our bodies can create. These sounds serve as both a starting point and a way to deepen our movement—a second step. Starting with the body itself, we explore the relationship between sound and movement.
Is movement a result of sound, or is sound a result of movement?
What if it's an interconnected relationship?
Our exploration incorporates elements of contact improvisation, partnering, body music (percussion, voice, melody), konnakol (Indian vocal percussion), and elements of acrobatics that occur organically through weight-sharing, touch, support, and non-verbal communication. We create our own language of communication with our unique sounds, bodies, and gazes.
The tools at our disposal: voice, body, rhythm.
All you need to experiment through this practice is your curiosity and willingness to play.
We embrace diverse experiences and backgrounds, viewing them as opportunities for new discoveries.
Our aim is to cultivate a nurturing, human-centric, and welcoming environment through artistic expression, where enjoyment is prioritized and all are encouraged to explore and experiment freely.
